A cycle of life

One of my neighbours, a mother of two grown up children, shared with her experience as "cycle of life":

Her parents migrated to Singapore four years ago as a way to seek a better life, she and her brother were the first generation of Singapore citizens. She had never realized how privileged and how lucky as individual till she visited India much later.

For the first 25 years, she said she "spoiled" herself; the next 25 years, she devoted her time to the family and to rise up two children. Now, as her husband being posted to India, she wishes to use next 25 years to give back to society, to do something for the Indian children. It is like "cycle of life".

I was touched by her perception of such idea. Indeed, our life, very often, are like cycles. The words we say, the things we do, will eventually come back to us.

It was delight to share with another mother her life experience as a mother. I never fail to learn and gain inspiration from them.

Mothers are cleverest human beings in the world.

Mother back to school

From August this year, I am backing to school. It was almost 12 years ago when I left my final education on MBA, this time backing school really made me to feel special and different,

The whole thing started with my career as “Full Time Mother”. It was a simple faith and belief, of which the first duty of a mother should be looking after her children made me to do so. It went on quite peacefully and I was rather isolated from outside world though. My main concerns were all related to my children’s need and household need, for in the beginning of my motherhood, we didn’t have a maid. Later on I embarked homeschooling journey. I was as busy as one can be. The only “socialization” I had was one a fortnight mother’s support meeting. A group of young mothers from our church decided to meet up to encourage one another, more important to learn from each other. We were all new mothers and we did need peer support. There were times we were so tired, so bored, so hopeless, yet, when we got together, a simple sharing of one's experience would cheer us up.

Now looking back, I almost feel proud of myself for I had been in this job for almost ten years. My youngest one just turned three, the children have a great company among themselves, they play, they fight, just never be bored. I finally feel that I can lay back and relax a bit and, maybe, “I can join some exercise groups” I was just telling my husband one day.

However, the incident happened sometime last year dashed my relaxing dream: Both my parents were just retired then, for all my siblings are overseas, I wanted them to come to Singapore. So I applied PR for them. The first time, the application was just rejected without any explanation. I didn’t give too much thought, but re-applied six months later. This time, the application was rejected again with a simple reason that I, a full time mother, am not gainfully employed. I was indignant and wrote to the Immigration for appeal and to show that I was and am gainfully employed. The appeal however was rejected again.

I wrote a letter to the local newspaper forum, strangely but happily, after my letter appeared, the Immigration decided to reconsider my parents' case. Very soon their PR statues were granted.

Since then, the question whether a full time mother is gainfully employed has been widely discussed in the media. At the same time, Singapore government is also concerning the ageing population and lower birth rate. It arouses me the intellectual interests to really find out the answer and redefine a mother's role in society. So that is why I come back to study Sociology on women issue, aim to gain empirical knowledge on a full time mother’s value in comparing with working mother, whether she is really gainfully employed how much she values.

Google Cask Reveals

Hey mums

Well let me first start off by saying, that if you haven't
seen the video then there's a good chance that our bank
account is in the process of quietly being sucked dry by
a new class of techno-thieves.

Well they are not really thieves and what they are doing is
not illegal, but they are (not so politely) taking any current
or future profits right from under your nose.

In this new special report by Chris Carpenter of Google Cash,
he shows you a new technology that is helping those that use
it, to be more profitable than ever in the history of affiliate
marketing on the internet.

You don't want to miss out on this one. It certainly help you
become more profitable than ever, however, if you are unaware
of these technologies it will be harder than ever to make a
profit as an affiliate marketer.

This is a must read.

Check it out.

Investing in yourself

I am reading "7 smart habits to building the weatlh of your dreams" by Lynnette Khalfani. I am very impressed by her suggestion : INVEST in yourself, which is equally important to any mothers.
"Investing in yourself will help you reap millions of dollars over a lifetime and it will also help you experience an abundantly satisfying personal and professional life." There are six primary ways you can invest in yourself and enhance your reputation:

S-Strive for perfect credit
I-Improve your education
M-Make it a lifelong endeavor to increase your knowledge training and skills
P-Put money in your own business before anyone else's
L-Learn to give back
E-Earn more by creating stability in your personal and professional life.

Have you consider this SIMPLE suggestion? I remember when I visited my former teacher at her home in Ohio. In her kitchen sink, she placed a big sign "SIMPLE life". I wonder whether she meant the same.

why do you want to be a SAHM?

I was not planning to be a SAHM in the beginning of our marriage. My husband, who is a devoted Christian, wanted his wife to be "keeper" at home. I was not so keen about this idea. At that point of time, I was study for my MBA and I wasn't prepared to give up my career.
But, the arrival of our first son changed my whole perspective of my life suddenly, I called it "mother's instinct". I just felt so convinced that I am the best caregiver to my children. I could not imagine to leave my baby with maids or others. I started my new career which is called "motherhood" by reading many books.
It wasn't easy at all at first. I was suddenly transformed from a professional to a housewife. The babytalks and endless house chores sometimes drove me crazy. I was very lonely, and whenever I took a walk with my baby, I surely would bump into some well-meaning people asking me "You are not working, aren't you?" For a long time, I replied meekly "No, I am not"
One day, I was pushing a full-loaded shopping trolley on one hand and dragging my baby's stroller at another one, approaching to check out counter with great difficulty, the counter lady smiled at me, "You are not working, aren't' you?" I, felt so ridiculous, asked her back." Oh, yes, I AM working, 24 hours, 7 days no pay no leaves, I am FULL TIME mother". Looking back, I have been a SHAM for almost ten years. Did I regret? NO. As I said before, motherhood, is also a career, which you can perform well and achieve great success. The greatest achieve for SAHM is your children. Your children need you, a mother, especially when they are young. The time you stayed with them will not be in vain. That bonding and precious moments are all your rewards. When you see your children are happy, secured and well educated, it is most comfort you can have.

If you are thinking to be one of SAHM, let me assure you that you will be doing the greatest favour for your children, your family and yourself. It needs your sacrificial love, needs your perseverance, it will not be an easy sailing, be prepared, but it would be very rewarding experience. What is more to a woman to have a wonderful motherhood experience?

Thinking of an Internet Business?

I am a Full time mother with four young children. I gave up my career and decided to be a stay-at-home mum for my children for I know that my children need me more than my job needs me. As my children start attending school, I find myself have a bit more time for myself. However, I do not want to leave them too fast or go back to a full time job, but rather, I would like to set up an Internet Business that enables me to be active in mind and physically be at home.

Internet has made the revolutionary changes in business world, it is now recognized as the Second Industrial Revolution. It also has lowered business entry and removed many of traditional barriers. Bill Gates estimated that the potentiality of E-business is only realised 1%. The vast opportunity and huge potential of e-business are just at our hand. Besides the big players, like Google and Yahoo, there are millions other players are testing water, trying to fish out lucrative profits.

While the real business opportunity and gold mines are truly appealing, there are also tons and tons of SPAM, SCAM and CHEAT online.

You see, I was MBA graduated from a traditional Business school where taught us the basic business chain consists of: - Products, Marketing and Service. I don’t believe that anyone who claims that you can make a fortune without any one of these and or, effortless. I firmly believe, in order to success in any business, you need to equip the right skills, right tools and right investment and bare the risk therein.

First, you need to equip the RIGHT SKILLS:

  • The skill to set up your own website and maintain it; though you can easily find website designer to set up a website for you at a reasonable price, it is always better to master what you are going to do, If you wish to be In the Business.

  • The skill to identify niche market and right products to promote, in other words, you have to find real gem among hips garbage.

  • “Affiliate Marketing is the very area I am looking into. I have checked through literally over 100 websites, honestly speaking, 90% of them are garbage.”
  • The skill to manage, like all the other business, you need skill in management, file management, affiliate accounts, profit/loss and marketing strategy. You got to be serious about it and be discipline. You have to learn, learn and keep learning.

  • Secondly, you need the RIGHT TOOLS:

    Very basically, you will need:
  • Website building Authoring Software, like Microsoft Front Pages, or Dreamweaver

The Best Business Opportunity For Stay at Home Mum

Also there are many new developed web building software with special Internet Market in mind. Such as Site Build It. and A new Xsite Pro. Click here to view the "7 Reasons Why You Need XSitePro Now!" video

Even better, a free software like Bluevoda will allow you to build simple web page with template designs

Thirdly, you have to make Right INITIAL INVESTMENT. The entry cost of an E-business is extremely low compared to traditional business model, however, you should not hope that you can make money without any investments or effortless. In fact, be prepared to dedicate and make right investments which include your time, energy and money etc.

“ I came across such website which claims you will make fortune but do not need to do any one of above things I mentioned. Don’t believe them. Remember the old wisdom says: "Thou shalt not eat, if thou don’t work.”

o Investment on website building and website hosting, including domain name, will be the biggest part of your whole investment, that will be from US$100 per year or higher. You need to choose the reliable and quality service, not just cheap in price
o Investment on critical E learning, you need to know some important Internet skills, there are many free resources Online, yet, you need to dig through hips of garbage to find a rare gem-the true and genuine teacher. If you consider your time is one of biggest investments too, you may choose e course like “Newbie Cash Machine”.

o Investment on further advertising and Searching Engine Optimization etc.

In summary, Internet Business is one of the most robust industry sectors, its potential will be greatly multiplied. Everyone, include you and me, has opportunity to enter and sail a meaningful journey. Even if you may not be successful at the beginning, so what, “Failure is the mother of Successful”, the key things here are Three Rs: Right Skill, Right Tool and Right Investment.

    This is a woman's story

    Read Holly Mann 's story
Go to above page which you may find a story of a woman. I found her amazing and admirable. She is like any one of us, an ordinary mother. But her determination and ability to learn made her a very successful business woman, who works from home.

It is like a dream to many of us, for both working mother sand Stay at home mothers. Read the story yourself and be enlightened.

    Changing Job?

My youngest son turns three this year. He is as independent as a capable toddler can be. His older siblings gradually agree to take him along to nearby park, playground or small forest walk. One of these times, when they all roam out for a walk, I am being left alone and feeling the air of relief. After almost ten years of being a full time mother, I seem to be at edge to loss this Permanent Job. It is kind of mix of feeling, happy and sour.
Won't it be nice to have some time and space for yourself again, won't it be nice to spend a quiet afternoon with your old friend? or just window shopping without distractions? Those were luxury thoughts, or rare occasions when my husband helped me to care for children. Now, I can.

Seeing children growing up day by day, I cannot help but amazing how rapid it seems to be. My oldest boy is 10 and he just likes a young man. Often, I heard myself saying to him,'Please look after your brothers." He has proven to be reliable and responsible big brother.

Do I contemplate to go back work? or yes, I am not afraid of not finding a job, but rather, I am reluctant to leave them to fast. I would rather to find some job which I can do at home. That leads me to implore Internet business.

Yes, mother is a permanent job. I shall make myself available for them at any time they need me.

Full time mother or Working mother?

Every mother faces this question soon or later.
When we were getting married, my husband expressed that he wanted his wife to be a at home mum. This idea was not appealing to me at first. However, with our first son arrival, I naturally and willingly accepted it.
Stay-at-home mother, often to be referred as Full time mother, which I think a more appropriate name, indeed a full time job. 7/24 without pay.
Working mother, on the other hand, is not easy to balance work and family. They have their stress and struggles too.
Though it is very personal one, the social play an important role in influencing women to make this choice. Women’s choice on this issue ultimately will influence society and nation in near future. Their children will be end product, in case of Full time mother, or by product, in case of Working mother, to face the test of time.
Let us know why you choose what you are, and what do you perceive your choice will be influencing our nation in next two generations?
