The blessing of a mother

I was having lunch at a popular food court after grocery shopping. It was just at the heat of lunch hour, every table was occupied. I saw a man sitting in one table, so asked his permission to share the table with him. Soon after, another two young ladies joined our table.

These two young ladies were talking about their office politics. One of them apparently was really stressed by the politicking, she said "I couldn't take it any more". The other tried to comfort and give some suggestion.

I was very sympathetic to them, recalling my own rather short career life, though I was lucky that I was not the subject of politicking, but I did witness the intensified office political drama. That leads me to be more grateful to be an ordinary mother.

Obviously, I have been free from all these tension and human relationship struggles, which could involve a lot of energy and emotions. The relationship formed in workplace, inevitably subjects to economic, politics struggles among colleagues,it is typical secondary social group which characterizes as short term, goal-oriented. While a mother working at home, she is developing her primary social group not only for herself, but for all her family members.

It is perfectly personal choice to make on this regard. I am just so thankful to be what I am to be. In our life, sometimes we do make choice according to our conviction,i.e. ethic end and according to our responsibility, i.e. ethic means. Sometimes, it is not unusual that we find that along the way we may have to comprise our conviction, or take such a means that does not justify the ends, it is however sole responsibility for each individual to make a choice and be contented about it.

No matter what you choose to be, or have to, following the lead of God, and be grateful. For He will grant the peace passing all our understanding and His goodwill be with us.
