My eldest son’s first word was “DaDa”. My husband was absolutely thrilled. “He calls me, he calls me.” I was told for many babies’ first word is “mum”, but I was not a bit jealous. The next moment, he saw a dog coming to his way, as excited as it can be, my son called “ Da Da”. Soon we discovered he called everything “DaDa”. My husband was much humbled.
After my daughter was born, I tried to teach my son to pronounce his sister’s name “Prisca”.
“Pi..ca” he said, “ No, Prisca” I corrected him
“Pi..ca” he said, “Prisca, Prisca” I corrected him
“Oh, I see, Police car” He said excitingly. Since then, his sister was called “Police car” by him.
