Since my son Noah got his own handphone, I start to have a new mean of communication with him, even we are in the same roof of house. He sends me SMS whenever he feels like it.
"Hi, Mum, r u fine?"
"yes."
"what r u doing?"
"nothing."
********
"hi, mum, i luv u."
"me too."
"mum, i am ur friend." or sometimes,
"mum, i am angry with u but i will still do ur homework."
"mum, Paul is bothering me. I am not his friend any more."
......
Needless to say, SMS has become a new part of communication and the abridged form of language has become a part of life.
