Give thanks unto the Lord

I am mother of four young children. I went for a routine heath screen and my GP suggested to do Mammogram, “since you are approaching 40”, so did I and the result of mammogram send me whirling. There are two cluster microcalicification shown on my mammogram which suggests the 20%-30% possible cancerous cells presented. I was immediately advised to undergoing a biopsy.

I went to see the first breast specialist, he really scared me. What he advised was to have a surgical biopsy and cost will be 7k to 11k depends on finding.

I went to see second breast specialist, who is recommended by my friend. She advised me to have mammotome, a much less invasive biopsy, nonetheless, she hinted to me that the fact that I have two clusters of microcalcification was not good sign; I also went to see the third breast specialist, recommended my O&G doctor, he is calm man, after examining the file, he told my husband that by his experience he doesn’t think they are malign, however, he would like to do mammotome biopsy for the peace of mind

So within a week, we decided to go for mammotome under Dr Low.

It was a time of much prayers and recollections. I felt peace of God being with me.

On Tuesday, we went to Mount Elizabeth for a day surgery. When I laid down the surgery table, just before the procedure, I prayed to God, forgiving me for not being a good mother, wife and daughter as I should have and asking God for giving me another chance to be a better one.

The procedure went smoothly and three days later I got the biopsy results, they are “benign”.

On the day I collected my result, I was waiting at doctor’s waiting room, my five years old son asked me to read a beautiful book “recollection”, one page says

“To trust and to fear is your choice.”

I am glad that I choose to trust God and even more grateful that God has chosen to love me.

Two days later, I received the news from my friend who did the same procedure on the same day with me, her result was benign too. God is good
